ECA 109th Annual Convention - Rhetoric & Public Address Interest Group will be sponsoring a trip to see Hamlet
The Rhetoric & Public Address Interest Group will be sponsoring a trip to see Hamlet at the Pittsburgh Public Theatre on Saturday, April 28. The Pittsburgh Public Theatre has advertised the show as follows:
Hamlet
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Ted Pappas
A young man encounters the ghost of his slain father in this epic drama. Prince Hamlet feels his life spiraling out of control. His uncle, Claudius, has murdered the king, usurped the crown, and married Gertrude, Hamlet’s mother. Revenge has been ordered by the spirit of the dead monarch, but Hamlet is in turmoil. Fiercely intelligent and wildly passionate, this exploration of love, lust, and grief has enthralled theatergoers for centuries. The greatest play in the English language lives again in a new production on The Public’s stage.
The Pittsburgh Public Theatre is a short walk from the Omni and the Doubletree hotels. We will meet in the lobby at 7:00pm on Saturday, April 28 and walk to the theatre together. The show begins at 8:00pm. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the show from a scholarly perspective Sunday morning.
Advanced tickets are required for this trip. For students and anyone under the age of 27, tickets are $15.75. For anyone over the age of 27 who is not a student, tickets are $25.75.
