The Connect Conference is sponsored by the ECA Community College Interest Group and is open and relevant to ALL ECA attendees. This unique, half day conference will be held Thursday, April 2nd at Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel during the 2020 ECA convention.

Isa EnglebergThe 2020 featured presenter is Dr. Isa N. Engleberg, Professor Emerita, Prince George’s Community College.  Dr. Engleberg is Past President of the National Communication Association and coauthor of several communication textbooks, including THINK Public Speaking. This lively presentation, discussion, and hands on workshop will focus on change and innovation in our courses, and will encourage us all to reflect on how to refresh our techniques and content.

The Communication discipline has had many great successes in our common courses.  2020 offers opportunities to connect with a new brand of student. This year's Connect Conference focuses on the need to renew, refresh, and perhaps 're-tire' some of what we do in the classroom.  We will explore what's working and what might need to change in terms of our classroom approach.

Lunch and refreshments will be served.

If the Connect Conference happens to be your first time as an ECA attendee, you will receive a FREE one-year ECA membership! Membership has many benefits including subscription to our three academic publications - Communication Quarterly, Communication Research Reports, and Qualitative Research Reports in Communication.

The official Connect Conference flyer and invitation are linked below. Post a copy of the flyer in your faculty lunchroom or mailroom. We encourage you to share this exciting opportunity with your colleagues!
