ECA 110th Convention - Communication Law and Ethics Interest Group Interest Group Call for Papers

CALL FOR PAPERS

2019 EASTERN COMMUNICATION ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE

COMMUNICATION LAW & ETHICS

The Communication Law and Ethics Interest Group of the Eastern Communication Association invites the submission of competitive papers, thematic program or panel proposals, and innovative programming alternatives (e.g., roundtables, symposia, debates, open forums, and community programs) for the 110th annual convention of the ECA.

The 2019 convention’s theme, “Creating our Future,” looks for our discipline to produce work that solves problems or addresses challenges in communities, organization, relationships and local environments. This speaks to our own division’s potential for bringing together professionals from the academia, media, politics, and public service to work and solve these issues through the lens of law and ethics. If law is what we have to do and ethics is what we should do, then there is no better place to start. Our division is central in establishing the rules- both legal and ethical- that will guide us in solving the grand issues of our time.

In keeping with this theme, we ask you to consider submitting papers, thematic panels, and other program content that explore ethical and legal issues. We invite work from students, faculty and professionals. We also invite work from varying types of approaches including ethical, legal, critical, empirical and theoretical.

General information about the 2019 Call for Papers can be found at http://www.ecasite.org
